Looking for the perfect summer camp for your young angler? You've found it! Our Youth Fishing Camps are an incredibly fun way of sharing our knowledge and love of fishing with the next generation of anglers. All of our instructors/counselors are high-level fishermen that are a part of our Lake Hopatcong Guide Service family. Instruction will be given on a number of our top artificial lure techniques, live bait tactics, as well as fly fishing. Our curriculum focuses on safety, fundamentals, and proper mechanics on day 1, but ramps up to high-level lure tactics as the week progresses, all in preparation for "Tournament Day" each Friday! 

WHO:

Open to all anglers entering 2nd - 9th grade for the 24-25 school year. The kids are broken into groups based on age and skill level. Our camps are open to all, you do not have to be a Roxbury Twp resident.

WHERE: 

Horseshoe Lake Recreation Complex (located on-site at the Roxbury Twp Recreation Headquarters). All fishing takes place from shore.

WHEN:

Mon - Fri, 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Week 1: 7/8 - 7/12 

Week 2: 7/15 - 7/19 

Week 3: 7/22 - 7/26 

Week 4: 7/29 - 8/2 (Hatchery Trip* following the end of camp, approx 2:00 - 4:30 pm. All campers from weeks 1 - 4 are invited) 

Week 5: 8/5 - 8/9 

Week 6: 8/12 - 8/16 

Week 7: 8/19 - 8/23 

Week 8: 8/26 - 8/30 (Hatchery Trip* following the end of camp, approx 2:00 - 4:30 pm. All campers from weeks 5 - 8 are invited) 

*We will be doing two separate trips (parents responsible for transportation) to the NJ fish hatchery in Hackettstown, where our campers will be given tours of the hatchery. These hatchery tours are outside of camp hours on Friday afternoon after the 4th week (all campers from weeks 1-4 are invited) and after the final Friday of the 8th and final week (campers from weeks 5-8 are invited).*

COST & WHAT'S INCLUDED:

Total cost is $450 x week per child. All gear/equipment/bait is included - campers do not need to have/bring any fishing gear. However, those who do have their own gear and wish to receive instruction on their own rods/reels and lures are welcome to bring up to 2 rods and 1 tackle box with them each day. Registration includes a Horseshoe Lake fishing permit so your child can come back and fish the lake whenever they like for the remainder of the year. Daily awards are given out. Campers will receive a LHGS fishing shirt and our sponsors will be providing the kids with lots of free gear to take home. In addition, one lucky camper will win a free Guided Fishing Trip with us on Lake Hopatcong!
