Our Offshore Summer Fishing Camp was birthed thanks to parent-demand! Our Horseshoe Lake camp fishing from shore has been a major success but as our campers got older and essentially "graduated" from that camp, the amount of parents asking for another youth program geared at slightly older or more advanced anglers was overwhelming. We now have that option! These camps are geared towards older and more experienced anglers - registration is open to anglers entering 4th - 12th grade for the upcoming school year and with a good bit of fishing experience. Each camp is weekly and consists of 3 on-the-water boat trips on Lake Hopatcong led by members of our professional guide-staff. We will fish Mon, Tues, and Thursday (Wed & Fri are rain dates if needed) on Lake Hopatcong. All fishing will be from one of our two large 24' Fishing Pontoon Boats. We will fish differently each day and high-level instruction will be given regarding each different technique, target species, and fishing location. In addition, all who attend (and families!) are invited to tour the Hackettstown Fish Hatchery together, fish the stocked bass ponds, and learn about NJ Fish & Wildlife career paths and opportunities.  

WHO:

Open to all anglers entering 4th - 12th grade for the upcoming school year. We will be running two boats at the same time most weeks and we group our anglers based upon age/experience level.

Mon, Tues, Thurs: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. Wednesday and Friday will serve as rain dates if needed.

*We will be doing three separate trips (parents responsible for transportation) to the NJ fish hatchery in Hackettstown, NJ. All campers are invited to attend ONE of these outing. Our campers and their families will be given a tour of the hatchery, learn about the many career opportunities available working for NJ Fish & Wildlife, and our campers (only campers) will allowed to fish in a stocked bass pond! These hatchery tours are outside of camp hours on Friday afternoons.

3. Sunglasses & Hat - We require all campers to have eye protection when out fishing with us.

4. Up to 1 Fishing Rod (No Tackle Please. We bring rods and all of the best lures/bait that our guide-staff uses daily on Lake Hopatcong. Extra tackle boxes typically turn into a distraction and clutters the boat.

COST & WHAT'S INCLUDED:

Total cost is $450 x week per child. All gear/equipment/bait is included. Campers do not need to have/bring any fishing gear. However, those who do have their own gear are allowed to bring ONE rod with them each day. To save room on the boats and keep our anglers focused on the best technique that we use, no tackle boxes are to be brought. Campers will receive a LHGS fishing shirt and Ramsey Outdoor Stores will be providing them with free gear and coupons to take home. In addition, one lucky camper will win a free Guided Fishing Trip with us on Lake Hopatcong!
